MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Zissi snowstorm has moved on to Russia, Dmitry Ryabov, head of the Belarusian weather forecasting service, told a press conference, BelTA has learned.
“Zissi has already moved on to Russia. Soon the weather will calm down. In the first half of March the average temperatures will be 5-7 degrees above normal. There will not be much precipitation, mainly short-term,” said Dmitry Ryabov.
Zissi brought bad weather and snow to Belarus. In the eastern part of the country the precipitation was largely in the form of rain. In some areas there were snow deposits and slush build-up, black frost, sometimes gusty winds up to 12-15 m/s.
The snow cover across the country is from 1cm to 12cm, and 13-21cm in the north-east (Mogilev and Vitebsk).
