Belarus' GDP 4% down in January-February

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – In January-February 2016 Belarus' gross domestic product dropped by 4% from January-February 2015 to Br141.5 trillion, representatives of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

Industrial output totaled Br121.5 trillion, 5.6% down from January-February 2015. Agricultural output amounted to Br12.7 trillion, 2.4% up from the same period of 2015.

In the two months fixed-capital investments amounted to Br22.7 trillion, 24.6% down from January-February 2015.

January-February 2016 saw 746,100m2 of housing commissioned using all sources of funding, 25.2% down from the same period of last year.

In January-February 2016 retail trade turnover shrank by 0.2% to Br53.8 trillion. Wholesale trade in this period went down by 8.6% to Br98.1 trillion.
