Belarus-Russia Union State's radio project under consideration

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian radio station Alfa Radio, which is part of the holding company SB. Belarus Segodnya and the Russian publishing house Komsomolskaya Pravda are considering the implementation of a joint radio project. The piece of news was released by Belarusian Information Minister Lilia Ananich during the online conference hosted by the BelTA website on 15 March to discuss Belarus' media environment in new conditions.

“Such an interesting option as launch of a Union State radio project is under consideration. The initiative belongs to Alfa Radio on the Belarusian side and Komsomolskaya Pravda on the other side. If they manage to create a joint project, we would only welcome it. We are interested in analytics. There is no doubt that the development of the Union State of Belarus and Russia represents a large field for thoughtful and interesting reports,” said the official.

Lilia Ananich also noted that analytical programs on the radio are definitely important but when people travel by car, they are likely to need other things. “In this content the fact that BelTA offers its news to FM stations and represents virtually the entire news content of theirs is very important,” stressed the Belarusian Information Minister.

“It seems to me that the existing FM stations have worked out their formats and have their own dedicated listeners. They operate effectively in this field. But now Alfa Radio will develop along the avenue of analytical news, I think,” added the Information Minister.
