Belarus, USA discuss interregional cooperation

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) - Belarus and the United States discussed the possibility of developing interregional cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This topic was high on the agenda of a meeting between Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Belarus in the United States of America Pavel Shidlovsky and Mayor of Rancho Cordova David Sander on 8 March. The talks were held in furtherance of the agreements reached during the visit of Grodno Mayor Mechislav Goi to California. Back then the parties signed an agreement to establish friendly and partnership relations between Grodno and Rancho Cordova.

The parties discussed the promising areas of cooperation between the two cities with a focus on trade, economic and investment cooperation. During the meeting, Mayor David Sander was handed over an invitation to attend the 11th Festival of National Cultures due in Grodno on 3-4 June 2016.
