Chinese-Belarusian industrial park development company joins World Free Zones Organization

MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – SZAO Industrial Park Development Company has become a member of the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO). The relevant agreement was signed in Minsk on 10 March, BelTA has learned.

The company's membership in World FZO is an important step on the way to international development. As a member of the World Free Zones Organization SZAO Industrial Park Development Company will be able to study other models, share the best practices, and represent the Belarusian park in the international scene, said Li Haixin, Director General of the private joint-stock company (SZAO) Industrial Park Development Company.

In his words, plans have been made to create international space in the park. “We hope to attract investors from all over the world. For the sake of reaching the goal we are actively establishing cooperation with other countries. For instance, we promote relations with enterprises of Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Singapore,” he said.

In turn, Samir Hamrouni, Chief Executive Officer of the World Free Zones Organization, said that the main purpose of the organization is to offer a platform for all the free economic zones to share experience and knowledge. “We offer three levels of memberships such as voting members, associate members (experts working in this field) and observers, which are ministries of the countries that support free economic zones. Today the Belarusian Economy Ministry confirmed that it is an observer,” he concluded.
