MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – The reduction of Belarus' export in 2015 is a number one problem. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei made the statement during the session of the Ministry's board held on 10 March to discuss last year's performance of the diplomatic service, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei suggested using last year's results to analyze the returns on Belarus' integration efforts among other things.

The official stated that last year Belarus faced serious challenges in foreign economic matters and the market situation did not favor the country one bit. Foreign trade terms got worse, the demand on traditional markets dropped, some of Belarus' closest trade partners experienced a parade of devaluations. All these factors could not but affect foreign trade results in 2015. Vladimir Makei noted that the results stood in stark contrast to accomplishments in foreign policy matters while the foreign trade statistics failed to reflect the country's efforts.
