Five medals for Belarus at FIG World Cup Trampoline event in Baku

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) – Belarusians claimed five medals at the AGF Trophy in Baku, the first of five World Cup events before this summer's Olympic Games, BelTA has learned.

Anna Gorchenok graced the podium in Azerbaijan twice. She received the highest 54,810 points from the judges in the Women's Individual event. Silver went to Belarus' Tatyana Petrenya (54,715 points). Third was Katherine Driscoll of the UK (54,470 points).

Anna Gorchenok and Tatyana Petrenya teamed up to win the Women's Synchro title with the total of 47,500 points. Ukraine (46,700) and Russia (46,000) earned silver and bronze medals.

Vladislav Goncharov of Belarus was second in the Men's Individual event with the total of 59,700 points. The event was won by Russia's Dmitry Ushakov (61,345 points). Vladislav Goncharov and Nikolai Kazak were second in the Men's Synchro (49,800 points).

The next big competition for Belarusian athletes will be the 25th European Trampoline Championships in Valladolid, Spain on 31 March-3 April.

The FIG World Cup Trampoline 2016 includes four events. The second event will take place in Shanghai on 14-15 May, with the third one slated for 18-19 June in Brescia, Italy. The fourth event will take place in Arosa, Switzerland on 24-25 June.
