Kobyakov urges diplomatic missions to join work on reducing overdue receivables

MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Diplomatic missions should take an active part in the work on reducing overdue receivables, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at the session of the board of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 10 March, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“During the discussion Andrei Kobyakov stressed the need to monitor the change in dynamics of the supply abroad. He instructed to form the groundwork for rapid increase of sales in close contact with industry leading manufacturers and regional executive committees in order to implement the assignments for export, including through participation in tenders of international organizations and through usage of platforms for e-commerce,” the press service noted.

The Prime Minister also gave instructions on investment direction, and on the improvement of cooperation with investors. “In conclusion the head of government paid special attention to the usage of available tools to stimulate exports, participation of diplomatic missions in the work on reducing overdue receivables, and also in developing new markets,” the ministry added.

In 2016 the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will focus its efforts on maximizing the usage of the country's export potential, the elimination of existing and prevention of new trade barriers for goods and services of Belarusian enterprises on foreign markets. The diplomats are determined to work on attracting foreign direct investments and credit resources. “Among the priority issues there will be the assistance to the assembly plants abroad, optimization of the distribution network and logistics of Belarusian products to foreign consumers,” said representatives of the ministry.

Apart from that, the ministry will continue its work in preserving and strengthening the positions on key and emerging markets using a proven institute of highly-qualified officials. An important part of this work will be the promotion of export of services, which helped to achieve a positive trade balance in 2015.
