- The team of the Presidents of Belarus and Russia won a friendly ice hockey game in Sochi 12:3. The match was held in the Bolshoy Ice Dome which will host the Olympic ice hockey final, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko’s jersey number was 1, Vladimir Putin’s was 11. The goalkeeper on the Presidents’ team was Dmitry Baskov, a member of the ice hockey team of the President of Belarus, director of the children’s sports school Dinamo. The Presidents’ team was captained by Vyacheslav Fetisov.
The Presidents’ team included such hockey stars as Pavel Bure, Valery Kamensky, Alexander Kozhevnikov, other famous hockey players and also Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and members of the Belarusian President's team Andrei Astashevich, and Mikhail Zakharov. The other team was made up of Alexei Zhamnov, Alexander Mogilny, brothers Golikovs, Alexander Yakushev, Sergei Makarov and other ice hockey legends.
