The European boxing championship among youth starts in Irish capital, Dublin on 22 August.
The contests to be organized at City West hotel will involve sportsmen born in 1993-1994. 213 boxers from 38 countries will fight for the awards. Along with Azerbaijan, the contest will involve teams from Belarus, Germany, Armenia, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
President of the Association of International Amateur Boxing Ching Ko Woo said the record number of the championship participants shows that future boxing is held in reliable hands. “We will see most boxers competing in Dublin at the Olympic Games in Brazil in 2016”, he said.
AIBA’s official website has posted information about candidates for victory. Among them is our Rauf Rahimov (75 kg) who has won a prize in European championship.
