The Swedish human rights organization Östgruppen demands the immediate release of the Chairperson of the Human Rights Center Viasna Ales Bialiatski.

“It is obvious that the arrest is politically motivated. This is, without doubt, the punishment for the human rights activities of Bialiatski and the Viasna Center, as well as an attempt to intimidate human rights movement in Belarus”, the Östgruppen Chairperson, Martin Uggla.

According to Mr. Uggla, it is very important that the international community reacted strongly and demanded the immediate release of Ales Bialiatski and all other political prisoners.
