Morozov: Lack of integration makes Belarus and Russia manufacturers less competitive

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Lack of integration between industrial enterprises of Belarus and Russia makes them less competitive, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Alexander Morozov said when speaking at the breakout meeting “Development of cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the manufacturing industry” at the 3rd Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Morozov noted that in due time the parties discussed the projects to bring together the assets of KAMAZ and MZKT, KAMAZ and MAZ, other enterprises. “Lack of integration between our industrial assets makes the positions of our individual enterprises less competitive. When we speak about the heavy trucks producers such as KAMAZ and MAZ, we can say that it is one thing to have one manufacturer with twice the output. The other thing is to compete in the market with each other,” Alexander Morozov said.

Enterprises of the industrial complexes of Belarus and Russia should be ready to compete with major international companies. “We have no desire to close down the market to foreign products so that our companies could relax behind “the iron curtain” and manufacture uncompetitive products,” he noted.
