One-Handed Belarusian Convicted for Clapping to Appeal his Verdict

Participants in Hrodna silent protest Alexei Alexandrov and Ihor Hryhalets, sentenced to pay Br1.05 million and Br875 thousand fines, respectively, filed in Hrodna Regional Court against their verdict. One-armed Konstantin Kaplin, who, according to police, clapped his hands despite using the prosthesis, appealed against the decision of the district court.

They ask in their complaints, whether it is considered to be a crime to walk around the central square of the native town. They also wondered what kind of people in plain clothes carried out detentions there and why they were allowed attacking the others without the submission of documents in the city squares as well as whether clapping hand is viewed upon as the offense, sends "Garadzenskaya Viasna."

Reportedly, almost half of detained protesters in Hrodna plans to appeal the decision.
