Russian Security Forces Not Involved in Detention at "Silent" Actions, Surikov

Men in civilian clothes, who detain people during the "silent" actions in Belarus, have no relation to the Russian security services. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov. "I can only laugh at this. It is impossible in principle. This is a series of obscure speculations," the diplomat said.

Moody's Downgraded Ratings of Six Belarusian Banks

International rating agency Moody's downgraded the ratings of deposits in national currency of six Belarusian banks: BBK, Belagroprombank, Belinvestbank, Minsk Transit Bank and Bank Moscow-Minsk from B2 to B3 level, Belpromstroibank – from B3 to B1 level. The agency placed ratings of banks under the supervision with the possibility of further reduction, reported in the media agency.

Belarus to partake in World Expo 2015 in Milan

MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) – Belarus will take part in the World Expo 2015 in Milan. The expo’s theme will be “Feeding the planet”, reads the message President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent in response to the relevant invitation sent by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

The press service of the Belarusian head of state quoted Alexander Lukashenko as stating that the two countries had achieved considerable progress in bilateral cooperation since personal meetings between Alexander Lukashenko and Silvio Berlusconi in 2009.

Plain-clothed men at silent actions in Minsk are not Russian special forces

Russia's Ambassador Aliaksandr Surykau has come up with such a statement.

According to his words reported by  interfax.by , participation of Russian special forces in actions like this is absolutely impossible. Let us remind you, a series of Russian media claimed that "people in plain clothes" might be connected with Russian special forces.

Belarus to partake in CIS School of Young Leaders

MOSCOW, 25 July (BelTA) – Representatives of Belarus will take part in the CIS School of Young Leaders “Intercultural Dialogue for the Leaders of CIS Youth Organizations.” This forum will take place at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia from 25 July to 3 August, BelTA learned from the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC).

The School of Leaders will also welcome representatives of other CIS countries, namely Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Estonia, and Russia.

Medvedev Offers Belarus to Celebrate 1150th Anniversary of Russian State

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev offers Belarus and Ukraine to celebrate 1150th anniversary of Russia's statehood together with Russia in 2012. He announced this on July 22 at the joint meeting of the Council on Culture and the Arts and the Council for Science, Technology and Education at the Russian president.

"I think we could very well mark the occasion with our brotherly countries, I mean, first of all, Ukraine and Belarus. We have common historical and spiritual roots," said Dmitry Medvedev, reports Korrespondent.net.
