Men in civilian clothes, who detain people during the "silent" actions in Belarus, have no relation to the Russian security services. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov. "I can only laugh at this. It is impossible in principle. This is a series of obscure speculations," the diplomat said.
On the fact of the existing agreement to let Russian special services participate in the resolution of internal conflicts in Belarus, Alexander Surikov said that there are no contracts, including in the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"There’s a contract in the framework of the CSTO, according to which Rapid Reaction Force may participate in the technological disasters in case of man-made situation in one of the countries," Russian "Interfax" quoted Alexander Surikov.
"Also, the forces of the Organization can respond in the event of aggression against one of the CSTO member states," the diplomat said, adding that no other motives are provided.
We’re against Such Mass Detention of Citizens for No Reason, Surikov
According to Alexander Surikov, two Russian citizens, "detained for no reason" in Minsk and Barysau, plan to appeal both the actions of law enforcement and judicial decisions. "We are serious and tough to defend the interests of Russian citizens," he said.
The diplomat said that the Russian Embassy appealed to Minsk prosecutor's office on these facts. "We are against such a mass detention of citizens for no reason, and especially Russian, who did not participate in protest actions, but due to certain circumstances, happened to be on the site of action. One must clear everything up before carrying out indiscriminate detaintions," Alexander Surikov said.
