Belarusian MFA Press Secretary Andrei Savinykh Comments to BelaPAN Information Agency on the current stage of Belarus-Europe relations.
«The relations between the Republic of Belarus and European Union may be called rather difficult at this point. That is largely determined by unilateral efforts on the part of the European Union and decisions passed in the wake of the election campaign and those events in Minsk which occurred after the voting stations were closed.
From the Belarus perspective, such decisions are groundless and illegitimate. They rule out serious achievements we managed to put in place in our relations. They also compel the Belarus side to reciprocate adequately. Regrettably, this is not our choice.
We are convinced that a solution to all problems shall lie in an open and constructive dialogue between all partners. We are confident that the parties are still in a position to come back to a normal system of relations and co-operation», the mfa.gov.by reported.
