SNOV, 16 July (BelTA) – In 2011 Belarus plans to earn $4 billion on agricultural exports, Agriculture and Food Minister Mikhail Rusyi told reporters as he took part in the events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Snov Agricultural Company on 16 July, BelTA has learned.
Agricultural companies expect to get $1.6 billion worth of trade surplus. In January-June 2011 the export of food went up 32%, the companies earned more than $1.1 billion worth of foreign currency.
According to Mikhail Rusyi, Belarusian products are very popular in the market. There are good opportunities to start exporting potatoes and other vegetables. “The weather allows expecting good harvest of vegetables and potatoes. We hope to get more returns on these products,” Mikhail Rusyi said.
