MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The energy dependence of the Belarusian economy should be reduced as much as possible, said Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich as he awarded distinguished Belarusians on 19 August.
The head of government underlined that the national power engineering industry has to achieve ambitious goals relating to modernization, construction of small-scale energy installations, creation of the nuclear power plant.
Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed that running energy-generating installations effectively was as important as commissioning new ones. “Unfortunately, despite the fact that prices for the energy Belarus imports have risen considerably the share of ineffectively used electricity and heating energy is still high at the local level,” said the head of government.
The Prime Minister urged to reduce energy dependence of the Belarusian economy as much as possible. “Everything should be done to reduce energy dependence of our economy,” concluded Mikhail Myasnikovich.
