An action of protest was held near General public prosecutor's office in Warsaw on August 16.

Author: Euroradio 16.08.2011 15:14

Its participants demanded that an objective investigation of the incident of disclosure of Ales Byalyatski's bank information to the Belarusian authorities by the Polish general publis prosecutor's office should be conducted. 11 people took part in the action - mostly students. They chanted "Say no to cooperation with dictatorship!" for a few minuted and then two protesters headed for the General public prosecutor's office, where spokesman Maciej Kujawski met them.

The protesters handed him their petition, which demanded to punish those who were responsible for disclosure of the information about Byalyatski. Belarusians of Warsaw also demand to stop cooperation between Polish and Belarusian public prosecutor's offices in the field of informational exchange, if this information may be used against the Belarusian opposition. They also demand to reveal the information whom else of the opposition activists Poland handed out to the official Minsk.

Among the organizations which signed the petition there are the "Young FRont", the movement "European Belarus", the steering committee for creating the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy", the human right defense center "Freedom and Law" and the "Union for support of democracy in Belarus".
