Warsaw looks for the guilty in Byalyatski's case

Poland's General public prosecutor will study the results of the internal investigation of the Belarusian human rights defender's bank accounts disclosure.

Author: Euroradio 16.08.2011 13:34

It is not excluded that the names of people who are responsible for the incident will be revealed,  “Radio Liberty”  informs.  The whole story is considered not just an example of negligence committed by the officials, but a huge political scandal in Poland.

Previously, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski apologized through a social network Twitter. Sikorski called diclosure of information about Byalyatski "a horrible mistake made despite MFA's warnings".

Let us remind you, Lithuania also disclosed the information on Byalyatski's bank accounts. Ales Byalyatski was accused of tax evasion in especially big scope due to the information provided by the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice. The human rights defender was arrested on August 4. He will spend at least two more months in custody. It became known later that Warsaw had also disclosed information about Byalyatski's accounts.
