"Mieux vaut être dictateur que pédé", estime le président bélarusse - Le Monde

Le président de Biélorussie Alexandre Loukachenko, paria en Europe en raison de la répression de l'opposition dans son pays, a dénoncé dimanche 4 mars les critiques européennes à sa manière, estimant qu'il valait mieux être "dictateur que pédé".

M. Loukachenko s'exprimait lors d'une compétition de ski, et a répondu aux critiques du ministre polonais des affaires étrangères, Radoslaw Sikorski, et son homologue allemand, Guido Westerwelle, qui a rendu publique son homosexualité.

"Le premier vit à Varsovie, le second à Berlin", a-t-il dit. "En ce qui concerne le second, qui crie à la dictature (...) après avoir entendu ça je me suis dit : mieux vaut être dictateur que pédé", a lancé M. Loukachenko.

Ce n'est pas sa première sortie de la sorte visant M. Westerwelle. En février 2011 il avait raconté avoir dit au ministre allemand ne pas aimer "les pédés" et lui avoir conseillé "les yeux dans les yeux" de mener une "vie normale".

La Biélorussie est l'objet de sanctions occidentales en raison des arrestations d'opposants qui se sont multipliées après la réélection d'Alexandre Loukachenko à la présidence en 2010 avec plus de 80 % des voix.
