Attentat de Minsk : peine de mort requise contre les deux accusés - Le Monde

La peine de mort. Voilà ce qu'a requis le parquet de Minsk, lundi 14 novembre, contre les deux accusés jugés pour l'attentat qui a fait 15 morts en avril dans le métro de la capitale de Biélorussie.

"Je vous demande d'infliger la sanction exceptionnelle de la peine de mort" aux deux accusés, Dmitri Konovalov et Vladislav Kovalev, a déclaré le procureur adjoint Alexeï Stouk, dans son réquisitoire devant la Cour suprême.

Le principal accusé, Dmitri Konovalov, est jugé pour avoir commis l'attentat et préparé les explosifs, tandis que Vladislav Kovalev doit répondre de complicité.

MOTIVATIONS INCONNUES

L'attentat du 11 avril, qui a fait également plus de 160 blessés à la station de métro Oktiabrskaïa, en plein centre de Minsk, est le plus meurtrier dans l'ancienne république soviétique depuis son indépendance en 1991. Les autorités n'ont jamais fait état des motivations des deux accusés.

Les deux hommes sont également jugés pour deux explosions à Minsk en 2008 et à Vitebsk (Est) en 2005 qui avaient fait des blessés et avaient été attribuées à des groupes nationalistes par les autorités de ce pays dirigé d'une main de fer par le président Alexandre Loukachenko.

Deux exécutions ont eu lieu en Biélorussie depuis le début de l'année, selon les autorités de ce pays qui est le seul du continent européen à encore appliquer la peine capitale.
