MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Visa requirements will be lifted for official participants of the 2014 World Ice Hockey Championships and foreign tourists in Belarus on 25 April – 31 May 2014. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 16 January, the press service of the Belarusian head of state told BelTA.
Official participants of the championships have to be in lists of the official accreditation system of the International Ice Hockey Federation while tourists have to present an original ticket or a digital one for championship matches. Official participants and tourists will not need medical insurance contracts.
Except for excisable goods commodities to be imported to Belarus for holding the 2014 IIHF World Championship will be exempted from import customs duties and VAT taking into account international obligations of Belarus. Targeted application of such commodities will have to be confirmed by Minsk City Hall. Eligible are products to be imported to build, rebuild and equip sports facilities, hotels and other infrastructure premises. The Sports and Tourism Ministry will be able to issue confirmation for other commodities.
