Belarus to negotiate Interpol passport recognition in France

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – A delegation of the Belarusian Interior Ministry is in France on an official visit to take part in negotiations on the draft agreement between Belarus and Interpol on recognizing Interpol passports, representatives of the Belarusian Interior Ministry told BelTA.

The visit began on 17 January to last till 20 January. The recognition of Interpol passports will enable Interpol representatives to freely enter a country, which has signed the relevant agreement, to combat crime.

Belarus became an Interpol member on 4 October 1993 while the national bureau was set up by the relevant instruction of the Interior Ministry on 10 December 1993. Since then the national bureau has ascertained the location of hundreds of people, who are missing and who are evading legal prosecution in other countries.
