Zgodnie ze statutem oficjalnego ZPB, Łysy będzie p.o. prezesa do kolejnego zjazdu organizacji, planowanego na 2013 rok.

Tydzień temu ze stanowiska prezesa związku ustąpił Stanisław Siemaszko. "W podaniu napisał, że prosi o zwolnienie go funkcji z przyczyn rodzinnych. Powiedział też, że chciałby zajmować się biznesem, a robienie dwóch rzeczy naraz jest niemożliwe" - mówił Łysy PAP w czwartek.

Wśród możliwych przyczyn ustąpienia Siemaszki grodzieńska rozgłośnia "Twoj Styl" wymieniała niedobry stan finansowy organizacji i opóźnienia w opłatach rachunków za biuro. Rozgłośnia podkreślała, że Siemaszko jest znanym na Grodzieńszczyźnie przedsiębiorcą, ma hotele w Grodnie i Szczuczynie.

Siemaszko był prezesem oficjalnego ZPB, nieuznawanego przez Polskę, od września 2009 r. Wcześniej nie miał wiele wspólnego ze związkiem.

Dwa kierownictwa Związku Polaków istnieją na Białorusi od 2005 roku. Wówczas władze w Mińsku nie uznały zjazdu organizacji, na którym wybrano na prezesa Andżelikę Borys, i nakazały przeprowadzenie ponownego zjazdu. Na nim wyłoniony został jako prezes Józef Łucznik, jednak tej decyzji nie uznały władze polskie. Borys w uznawanych przez Warszawę władzach ZPB została zastąpiona przez Andżelikę Orechwo, a Łucznik we władzach uznawanych za legalne przez Mińsk - przez Siemaszkę.
