President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on January 17 that Belarus develops its relations with no other country in the world as quickly as with China. The Belarusian head of state stressed in an interview with the leading Chinese media that the authorities of Belarus and China have no closed issues.
"We have no closed issues- ranging from potash sales in China to creating a space satellite for China. We already know what and how to do in all directions," BelTA quoted Alexander Lukashenko.
As Telegraf previously reported, December 5, during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China Lu Guicheng, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said he expected to attract more Chinese investments into the Belarusian economy and expand the bilateral cooperation as a whole.
During the September visit of the Chinese delegation to Belarus, the sides signed several bilateral agreements. In particular, they signed a framework intergovernmental agreement on the Sino-Belarusian industrial park, as well as an intergovernmental agreement on economic and technological cooperation.
In addition, the framework agreement was signed between the Belarusian government and Eximbank of China on financial cooperation in privatization and attracting Chinese investment in Belarus in 2011-2012, as well as other documents. It is Eximbank that will provide Belarus with concessional and commercial loans for joint projects between the two countries (in particular, projects to create a third mobile operator, upgrading of Minsk TPP-2, the construction of transmission lines for the NPP, construction of roads, upgrading of the National airport "Minsk" and so on).
