Minsk city executive committee authorized the march and rally on the occasion of Dzen Voli (Day of Will – Telegraf) on March 25. One of the representatives of the organizing committee for the celebration of the anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic , Viktor Ivashkevich, received a written permission of Minsk authorities on March 20.
As Telegraf previously reported, Viktor Ivashkevich has recently stated that "the target is to avoid either beating the participants of the event, or detaining them for a day."
The Belarusian opposition
created a committee to celebrate the anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic. February 23, the opposition representatives filed an application to Minsk city executive committee asking to carry out activities on Dzen Voli.The opposition political forces planned to gather at the Academy of Sciences in Minsk at about 13:30-14:30 on March 25 so that to organize a march towards Bangalore Square and a rally in the Peoples' Friendship Park.
