MOSCOW (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Russian veterinary and phytosanitary oversight service Rosselkhoznadzor at the request of its Belarusian colleagues, is to check several dairy and meat companies in Ukraine.
"In April we're planning checks of some Ukrainian companies that supply products to Russia, and the veterinary food supervision department in Belarus asked to re-check some companies that supply foodstuff to Belarus," Rosselkhoznadzor told Interfax.
It said it would check Danone-Dnepr LLC, closed joint-stock company Lactalis-Mykolaiv, Prometei firm, closed joint-stock company Galychyna, Zhytomyr Butter Factory, Myrhorod Butter and Cheese Factory, Bila Tserkva Dairy Plant, Druzhba Narodiv LLC, Oniss (a meat producer) and other companies.
Initially it was planned to conduct the checks in February 2012, although with regard to the reorganization of the Ukrainian veterinary service, this was postponed until April. The exact terms will be agreed later. This is a regular, scheduled check," Rosselkhoznadzor said.
It is expected that taking into account the request of Belarus, around 20 enterprises will be checked. The list of companies will include those that already supply their products to the Customs Union, and those that plan to do this. "We'll ask our Kazakh colleagues if they have any concrete proposals for the checks," Rosselkhoznadzor said.
