On November 14, Daniel Nadel of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor met with a group of 40 students from Belarusian State University (international relations) and Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts (library sciences) to talk about gender issues and political correctness. After the presentation, the students participated in a lively discussion of economic, social and legal aspects of current tendencies in gender issues and the latest American and European developments as well as religious tolerance and business opportunity equality. The students also visit the IRC to learn about programs and resources and received some publications on the topic, including “Educating Women and Girls” and “Art on the Edge,” selected articles from IIP e-journals and IRC promotional materials.
