- Wydaliśmy w zeszłym roku katolickim kapłanom z obwodu grodzieńskiego 18 wiz na trzy miesiące. Teraz ten termin upłynął. Obwód i my przeanalizowaliśmy postępowanie tych 18 osób. Do 14 nie mamy zastrzeżeń i przedłużymy im wizy na pół roku. Dlaczego? Bo zaczęli się uczyć języka, a jeśli nie są w stanie wygłosić kazania po białorusku, to przynajmniej raz w tygodniu czytają je w tym języku" - zaznaczył.

W czterech przypadkach nie zapadła jeszcze decyzja.

- Niewykluczone, że przedłużymy im wizę na kolejne trzy miesiące, ale też niewykluczone, że odmówimy. Będę to mógł powiedzieć za tydzień, bo 27 i 28 lutego mam spotkania, m.in. z biskupem grodzieńskim Aleksandrem Kaszkiewiczem, i podejmę ostateczną decyzję

Jak zaznaczył, krótsze, trzymiesięczne wizy zaczęto wydawać księżom w zeszłym roku, bo rosła liczba skarg od wiernych na księży, którzy są na Białorusi od wielu lat, ale nie mówią podczas mszy po białorusku lub rosyjsku. Jego zdaniem taka postawa świadczy o braku szacunku dla obywateli.

- Jak można przebywać w kraju siedem lat i przez ten czas nie wygłosić ani jednego kazania po białorusku albo rosyjsku? Rośnie liczba skarg od ludzi. Niedawno miałem delegację 30 osób. Mówią: lubimy swojego księdza z Polski, jest dobrym człowiekiem, pomaga nam i z chęcią do niego chodzimy, ale prosimy go: "Niech nam ojciec chociaż raz w miesiącu wygłosi kazanie w języku, który rozumiemy. Polskiego nie znamy, bo nie jesteśmy Polakami" - oznajmił.

Hulaka zaznaczył, że spośród około 450 księży katolickich na Białorusi 158 przyjechało z zagranicy, w tym 152 z Polski. Według białoruskiego prawodawstwa, są zapraszani na termin do jednego roku, a potem wiza jest przedłużana.

O tym, że niektórzy katoliccy duchowni sprawujący posługę na Białorusi dostają wizy na trzy albo sześć miesięcy zamiast na rok mówił w grudniu na konferencji prasowej metropolita mińsko-mohylewski, arcybiskup Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz.

- Jest to dla mnie niezrozumiałe, choć wszystko odbywa się zgodnie z prawem, bo wizę można wydawać na okres od jednego miesiąca do roku. Niektórzy księża w grodzieńskiej diecezji otrzymali wizy na trzy miesiące. U nas, w diecezji mińskiej, większość dostała na pół roku, chociaż w zeszłym roku dostawali na rok - powiedział wówczas metropolita.
