- Jerzy Buzek on the recent elections in Russia. Interview by Michal Kubicki.
Former European parliament president Jerzy Buzek tells us in an exclusive interview that the Russian presidential elections were "not democratic".
"Poland and the EU want to have good relations with Russia, because we need one another but it’s impossible to accept everything what’s happening in Russia, if only to mention the Khodorkovsky trial and the situation in Chechnya,” he told our reporter Michal Kubicki.
Jerzy Buzek served as President of the European Parliament until the middle of January. He was also Poland’s Prime Minister between 1997 and 2001.
Buzek also gives us his views on the diplomatic war between Belarus and the EU and the fiscal pact, which was adopted last week in an effort to get the euro-zone out of its debt crisis. (pg)
