Laurent Blanc a appelé jeudi pour la première fois le milieu de terrain de l'Olympique de Marseille Morgan Amalfitano, unique nouvel arrivant de la liste de 23 joueurs convoqués pour le match amical Allemagne-France prévu le 29 février à Brême.

Pour cette rencontre-test face à un adversaire qui sera parmi les favoris de l'Euro, le sélectionneur enregistre le retour du défenseur central Philippe Mexès et a rappelé l'attaquant Louis Saha, qui vient pallier les absences sur blessures de Karim Benzema et Loïc Rémy.

Morgan Amalfitano, 26 ans, est récompensé de sa belle saison à Marseille où il est arrivé l'été dernier et s'est imposé depuis quelques mois comme un rouage essentiel du onze olympien, invaincu depuis 16 matches toutes compétitions confondues.

Le retour de Philippe Mexès, dont Blanc avait fait à son arrivée le pilier de sa défense mais qui a été écarté des terrains de longs mois par une blessure au genou, était attendu puisque l'ancien Romain a retrouvé une place de titulaire dans la charnière centrale du Milan AC, leader de Serie A.

Louis Saha, qui n'a plus porté le maillot bleu depuis un France-Biélorussie qualificatif pour l'Euro en septembre 2010, fait son retour dans le groupe quelques semaines après de bons débuts avec sa nouvelle équipe de Tottenham. Aux avant-postes, il sera en concurrence avec le Montpelliérain Olivier Giroud, meilleur buteur de Ligue 1, à nouveau convoqué par Laurent Blanc.
