Baltarusijoje įvykdyta mirties bausmė Dmitrijui Konovalovui, kuris buvo vienas iš dviejų nuteistųjų baudžiamojoje byloje dėl teroro akto Minsko metropolitene.

Egzekucija buvo įvykdyta nepaisant žmogaus teisių aktyvistų protestų ir raginimų iš naujo nagrinėti baltarusių bylą.

Anksčiau šeštadienį buvo pranešta, kad sušaudytas kitas nuteistasis šioje byloje Vladislovas Kovaliovas.

Abiems jiems buvo po 25 metus.

Kovo 14 d. Baltarusijos prezidentas Aliaksandras Lukašenka nusprendė nesuteikti malonės nuteistiesiems mirties bausme, kuriuos teismas pripažino kaltais dėl teroro akto Minsko metropolitene 2011 balandžio 11 d. Tada 15 žmonių žuvo, o daugiau kaip 200 buvo sužeisti.

Baltarusija lieka vienintelė šalis Europoje, kur vykdoma mirties bausmė. Žemyno lyderiai ir žmogaus teisių grupės ragino Minską atsisakyti griežčiausios bausmės vykdymo šiems dviem nuteistiesiems.

Europos Sąjungos užsienio reikalų įgaliotinė Catherine Ashton šeštadienį pareiškė, kad „kaltinamiesiems nebuvo suteikta teisė apsiginti“.
