ES prieš Baltarusiją imsis ekonominių sankcijų, teigia Latvijos diplomatas - Lietuvos rytas

Per artimiausią mėnesį Europos
Sąjunga Baltarusijai greičiausiai paskelbs ekonomines sankcijas,
mano aukštas Latvijos užsienio reikalų ministerijos pareigūnas.

Latvijos URM valstybės sekretorius Andris Teikmanis
ketvirtadienį Latvijos radijui sakė, kad Latvija tokių sankcijų
nepalaikytų.

Tačiau jis mano, kad ES ekonomines sankcijas Baltarusijai
paskelbs, kadangi daug ES valstybių tokią idėją remia. Pasak
diplomato, Latvija visada aktyviai dalyvavo ginčuose dėl ekonominių
sankcijų, tačiau jų nerėmė, kadangi dėl jų rimtai nukentėtų
Baltarusijos žmonės.

„Mes niekada nepalaikėme sankcijų prieš Baltarusiją, ir mūsų
požiūris nepasikeitė. Tačiau mes galime neturėti pakankamos įtakos,
kad užblokuotume tokį ES sprendimą“, - sakė A. Teikmanis.

Šią savaitę Europos Sąjungai į Baltarusijos „juodąjį“ sąrašą
įtraukus dar 21 su Aleksandro Lukašenkos režimu susijusį pareigūną,
Baltarusija ir ES ėmėsi diplomatinių demaršų.

Iš pradžių Baltarusijos valdžia pasiūlė ES atstovei
Baltarusijoje Mairai Morai (Maira Mora) ir Lenkijos pasiuntiniui
Lešekui Šerepkai (Leszek Szerepka) „išvykti į savo sostines
konsultacijoms, kad savo vadovybei perteiktų tvirtą Baltarusijos
poziciją, jog spaudimas ir sankcijos nepriimtinos“.

Atsakydamos į tai, visos atstovybes Minske turinčios ES
valstybės atšaukė savo pasiuntinius.
