Rzeczywiście, w czasie debaty w siedzibie "Gazety Wyborczej" Hollande wyraźnie odciął się od aspiracji unijnych Turcji, mówiąc, że sama demokratyzacja nie powinna być czynnikiem wystarczającym do przyjęcia w struktury UE.

Kwaśniewski wyjaśniał, że sam nie oczekiwał od Hollande'a mocnych akcentów dotyczących wschodniej Europy. - Chyba musi ten obszar lepiej poznać, a poza tym niespecjalnie mu się ten temat przyda w czasie kampanii wyborczej - tłumaczył.

]]> Aleksander Kwaśniewski ]]> pozytywnie ocenił gest Bronisława Komorowskiego, który jako jedyny przywódca unijny zaprosił Francois Hollande'a na spotkanie: - To rozsądne zachowanie. Lepiej poznać lidera francuskich socjalistów i jego poglądy. Nie wiadomo przecież, co będzie po wyborach.

"Zmową" były prezydent określił zachowanie europejskich liderów, którzy odrzucili możliwość spotkania z Francois Hollandem. - Z drugiej strony - taka jest polityka, tu nie ma miejsca na sentymenty. Prezydent Sarkozy skrzętnie wykorzystał wszystkie swoje wpływy w partiach prawicowych, żeby do tych spotkań nie doszło - stwierdził Kwaśniewski.
