Niezależne białoruskie media zwracaja uwagę, że do egzekucji dwóch skazanych za podłożenie bomby w mińskim metrze, doszło w niezwykle szybkim tempie.

Od decyzji sądu o skazaniu Dźmitra Kanawałaua i Uładzisława Kawaloua na karę śmierci minęło zaledwie 3 i pół miesiąca. Wczoraj rząd portwierdził informację, że obaj zostali straceni.

Hary Pahaniajła, z Białoruskiego Komitetu Helsinskiego - cytowany przez gazetę internetową "Nawiny"- powiedział, że w trakcie swojej praktyki prawniczej nie pamięta "przypadku tak pośpiesznego wykonania wyroku śmierci". Zwrócił uwagę, że obaj skazani zostali rozstrzelani zanim Komitet Praw Człowieka ONZ rozpatrzył skierowaną do niego skargę w tej sprawie. "Miało miejsce cyniczne zabójstwo w imieniu państwa, które nie dalo swoim obywatelom możliwości skorzystania z ich konstytucyjnych praw"- oświadczył Hary Pahaniajła.

Rozgłośnia Radio Swaboda poinformowała, że w Witebsku w przejściu podziemnym pojawiło się zdjęcie Uładzisława Kawalowa z podpisem "zabity niewinny". Witebsk jest rodzinnym miastem obu straconych mężczyzn.

Tymczasem państwowa agencja informacyjna Biełta przypomniała, że Sąd Najwyższy Białorusi podjął decyzję o zastosowaniu najwyższej kary wobec obu z uwzglednieniem ciężaru przestępstwa. W wyniku wybuchu w metrze w kwietniu ubiegłego roku zginęło 15 osób, a ponad 300 odniosło obrażenia, wielu z nich zostało inwalidami.

Białoruś jest jedynym krajem w Europie gdzie wykonywana jest kara śmierci. W Rosji obowiązuje moratorium na jej wykonywanie.

Prezydent Aleksandr Łukaszenka odmówił ułaskawienia skazanych mimo, że z Europy napływały apele do białoruskich władz o niewykonywanie wyroku śmierci.

Także część białoruskich mediów i opinii publicznej ma wątpliwości co do winy osób skazanych.
