Ekonominių sankcijų Baltarusijai išplėtimas tik padidintų Rusijos įtaką, sako Lietuvos prezidentė Dalia Grybauskaitė.

„Politiškai ir ekonomiškai tai stumia Baltarusiją Rusijos link ir mažina priklausomybę nuo Vakarų ar kokios nors Vakarų įtakos“, – interviu AFP naujienų agentūrai sakė Lietuvos prezidentė.

„Kalbėti apie sankcijas politiškai labai madinga, bet rezultatai daugiausiai paveikia žmones“, – sakė ji.

Europos Sąjunga trečiadienį išplėtė sankcijas prieš Minską, paskelbusi sąrašą, į kurį įtrauktas 21 Baltarusijos teisėjas, prokuroras ir policijos pareigūnas. Jie laikomi atsakingais už represijas per masinius protestus po prezidento rinkimų. Šiems asmenims uždrausta atvykti į Bendrijos šalis.

Minskas pareiškė, kad šis žingsnis yra „nepriimtina tiesioginio spaudimo politika“ ir pasiūlė Lenkijos bei ES ambasadoriams grįžti konsultacijų į savo sostines. Atsakydamos visos 27 ES šalys atšaukė savo ambasadorius iš Baltarusijos.
