MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – The national leasing company OAO Promagroleasing is working on a new leasing project to promote Belarusian agricultural machines to Mozambique, Promagroleasing Director General Pavel Krupnov told BelTA.
In March 2012 the Belarusian side plans to sign an agreement with the Fund for Agriculture Development of Mozambique, including their insurance companies and banks, for the delivery of tractors coupled with other agricultural tools required for complete agrarian technologies. A tentative order for the delivery of about 1,000 agricultural machines (tractors, ploughs, seeders, other soil cultivators, fertilizer distributors) has been received.
Thus, Belarus will offer a wider choice of agricultural machines, aftersale service, and agrarian practices to customers in Mozambique. Along with Belarusian manufacturers that participate in the project (Minsk Tractor Works, Bobruiskagromash and other ones) the Farming Agriculture Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will offer its services. By offering a complex product, Belarus plans to secure a foothold on the African market, said Pavel Krupnov. According to the source, Belarusian tractors have been regarded well in Mozambique since the Soviet times.
The Belarusian side can also train specialists for servicing the machines. Prospects of assembling Belarusian agricultural machines in Mozambique are under consideration. A Promagroleasing daughter enterprise may be set up there.
Promagroleasing will penetrate the market together with several Russian companies that will offer extra products and technologies that customers need. “We plan to exploit opportunities of the Single Economic Space that way,” said Pavel Krupnov.
Via Mozambique Promagroleasing may get access to markets of neighboring African countries. The company acted like that when it brought BelAZ rock haulers to South Africa two years ago. In 2011 South Africa bought four mining machines worth $3.4 million on leasing terms.
The possibility of selling Amkodor road construction machines, MAZ dump trucks and MZKT products on leasing terms in Africa is under consideration.
Founded in 2001, Promagroleasing is the national leasing company of Belarus. In 2009 the company was authorized to create a mechanism for international financial leasing, to promote Belarusian products onto foreign markets, and attract foreign investments into the Belarusian economy. Promagroleasing cooperates with Belarusian banks, insurance companies, domestic manufacturers of mechanical engineering products.
